     SENIOR BUCKS -                 8 months of age and over
                                                 8 to 10 1/2 lbs.  Ideal 9 lbs.

     SENIOR DOES -                   8 months of age and over
                                                 8 1/2 to 11 lbs.  Ideal 10 lbs.

     INTERMEDIATE BUCKS –     6 to 8 months of age
                                                Not over 8 1/2 pounds. 

     INTERMEDIATE DOES –       6 to 8 months of age
                                                Not over 9 1/2 pounds. 

     JUNIOR BUCKS -                 Under 6 months of age
                                                Not over 7 1/2 pounds.  *

     JUNIOR DOES -                   Under 6 months of age
                                                Not over 8 pounds.  *

     Juniors must weigh a minimum of 3 1/2 lbs.

  *  PRE-JUNIOR DOES & BUCKS -  Under 3 months of age and not over 5  lbs.
     Pre-Juniors are to be judged primarily for meat qualities, fur being considered
     only in case of a tie. Color is not to be considered.
     NOTE:  Juniors and Intermediates exceeding maximum class weight may be
     shown in a higher age classification.  NO animal may be shown in a lower
     age classification than its true age.

GENERAL TYPE

BODY -  Points 50:
The body is to be of medium length, with well developed shoulders and hindquarters.  It is to have an arched back, starting at the base of the neck and reaching its high point directly over the center of the hips, thereby presenting a curved or rounded back, loin, and hindquarters.  Depth of body is to balance closely with the width.  Shoulders are to be slighlty narrower than hips to form a slight taper.
Faults -  Chopped, rough, or pinched hips, extremely heavy bone.  Fault severely for mandolin type.

HEAD -  Points 3:
The head is to be medium length, carried erect, and close to the body.  It is to be more developed in bucks than does and in proportion to the body.  The head is to be as near the body color as possible.
Faults -  Extremely long and narrow head; too dark in color.
Disqualification from Competition - Slate coloring in the surface or under color.

EARS -  Points 3:
The ears are to be in proportion to the size of the head and body.  They are to be well set on the head, with strong base and rounded tips.  Each ear color is to be the same as the body color.
Disqualification from Competition - Black or slate coloring of any kind.

EYES -  Points 1:
The eyes are to be bright, bold, and alert in expression.

FEET & LEGS -  Points 2:
The feet and legs are to be strong, straight, and medium fine bone.  Dark colored toenails are preffered.  Light colored toenails are permissible, but they must match on that foot and the corresponding foot.
Disqualification from Competition - White toenail(s).  Unless matched toenail(s).

TAIL -  Points 1:
The tail is to be straight and well carried.  It is to be as near the body color as possible.
Disqualification from Competition - Slate coloring in surface or under color.

FUR -  Points 15:
The fur is to be very dense.  The texture is to be resilient enough that the fur will resume its natural position when stroked toward the head.  (flyback)
Faults - Soft texture, hutch stains, broken or molty patches, thin furred, or any condition of coat that tends to spoil the true color.
COLOR -  Points 20:
Surface color to be creamy-white with an orange cast carried throughout.  Orange color must be bright.  Undercolor is to be bright orange, with color carried to the skin, the deeper and richer the better.  Entire coat is to be interspersed with orange guard hairs, except the belly, which is to be creamy-white in color.  The nose and muzzle should display a butterfly, which is characteristic of the breed.  Allow for fading in seniors.  Eyes -  Brown.
Faults -  White hairs; light in color.
Disqualification from Competition - Slate coloring in surface or under color.  Black guard hairs.  Eyes any other color than brown.
